ICAST 2012 — It was a week to remember for Fishidy.com. We celebrated our one-year anniversary at the show last week with big news for show-goers. Not only have we evolved the site to be more user-friendly, include more data on more waterways across the country and added new how-to videos and guides, but we’ve now unveiled our newest feature…a mobile app for iPhone!

Here’s a preview of the maps on the app.

The app is currently in demo mode, so go to fishidy.com/mobile to be notified when it’ll be available in the iTunes store. We’re hoping to have it ready to go by the end of July. That means you’ll be able to access your Fishidy profile from the comfort and convenience of your boat, your car, your favorite bar – pretty much wherever you are. AND, you’ll be able to view our detailed waterway maps, mark your catches, upload photos and see information on the thousands of waterways we have online. And that’s not even all! If you’ve got a Premium membership on Fishidy.com, you’ll automatically get the Premium data on the new app and you’ll be able to see all the proven, marked fishing spots you’ve come to love and trust. We know – this is big news!

The Android app will be out soon as well. Sorry Android users, we had to start somewhere.

As for the rest of the news at ICAST, we saw some of our favorite anglers, businesses and friends out in Orlando. Bob Bernotsky from PowerTeam Lures made a special appearance even though they’re busy with three new lures for you guys! A new company called Mystery Tackle Box showed us their first mailing for all their members – we suggest you sign up for this deal – very cool. An awesome site called ReserveFishing.com shared some great new options for anglers looking for guides online and we met the ladies behind the cool, fishing site for lady anglers called BassFisherWomen.com. We hope to work with all these great companies soon to provide even more to our Fishidy users, so stay tuned!

I had a blast talking with the guys from Hook’n Up and Track’n Down Radio during their live show at ICAST! We also got to talk to some of our fishing heroes including Aaron Martens, Babe Winkelman, Kevin VanDam, Jimmy Houston, Brent Ehrler, Cary Bever and Shaw Grigsby (just to name a few!).

I even got in a quick fishing trip to Lake Toho with guide Kip Grunloh –  It wasn’t my best day on the water, but what a great fishery to catch some bucketmouths! I marked my catches on Fishidy.com – so go check them out.

All in all, it was an amazing week for the Fishidy team. We’re happy to be back home, but look forward to ICAST 2013 back in Vegas (even if it’s too hot there).

We’ve got some big things in the works for the rest of 2012 and 2013 and can’t wait to share them with you. Now go check out all the changes on Fishidy.com. You’ll love what you see!
